Facebook Competitions

A really effective way of generating awareness and driving traffic to your social presences, particularly on Facebook, is to run a competition.

As well as engaging audiences, competitions also give an additional level of interactivity and allow you to generate a buzz around your Facebook Page.

Competitions also tap into the viral aspect of Facebook, allowing friends to compete and share competitions and prizes with each other, increasing brand exposure and driving more traffic and entries free of charge.

Photo or Video

We can run a photo or video competition in which visitors to the Facebook Page can upload a photo or video for fellow users to vote a winner. This can be relevant to the prize or just a fun way for people to interact with the Page and draw in more ‘likes’. For example, you could ask people to upload video or photo content of themselves participating in an event and then users or a judging panel decide a winner.

Quiz

We can run quizzes or have trivia competitions in which people have to answer questions relating to your company or campaign. The people with the most correct answers get put into a prize draw and a winner is drawn. This is a good way to promote Pages virally as people compete with their friends and announce their score on personal profiles.

Raffle

A Raffle is a slightly less engaging competition but in terms of gathering user data (which can be used in the future for marketing and also to gain a large number of entries/visitors) is very useful. A raffle would allow people to simply enter their details to be in with a chance to win. Because of the nature of this type of competition and the high number of entrants, it can be used as a tool to increase likes by only allowing users to enter upon liking your page. If a user isn’t currently ‘liking’ your page they will have to in order to enter.

Vouchers

Often used to reward customer loyalty or to generate new ‘likes’, a voucher is a much simpler way to engage your audience – they simply complete the data capture form and receive a voucher.
